XB Online uses the XBL Dashboard on your console and the same XB Live login as this website.

Create an XB Live account on this page. If you already play on Insignia, sign in and set your XB Live password. You can link your Insignia account after that.

Download and install the XBL Dashboard. Get the installer from Downloads, then put it on your Xbox.

Sign in on the console with your XB Live email and password. The name you pick here is your XB Online username.
